The 1986 Cal 22 is a Raymond Hunt design sailboat built for capable performance and efficient cruising in protected waters. Known as a fast, dry boat with a large cockpit, it handles day-sailing, club racing, and occasional overnight trips. The design accommodates four sleeping berths: a double V-berth in the bow cabin and two straight settee quarter berths in the main cabin. The galley sits on the port side just aft of the bow cabin with a sink and storage, while the head is tucked under the bow cabin berth.
The boat points and sails well with good speed potential. Recent upgrades include new upholstery throughout and a new compass. The rigging features French hardware and includes rolling furling for the genoa, with both mainsail and genoa included. The 8 hp Mercury outboard motor was installed new in 2023 with electric start and carries only 5 hours of run time.
