The Cytra Bavaria 40 is a 1986 German-built convertible powered by twin Volvo diesel engines producing 500 horsepower. Her fiberglass hull spans 40 feet with a 13-foot 5-inch beam. The design emphasizes open, ergonomic layout with wide walkways to the foredeck, a centerline bridge ladder, and large windows throughout the salon and galley that flood the interior with natural light. The bridge offers ample seating and sight lines for extended cruising, while a lower helm station provides shelter in rough weather.
Below deck, the layout balances comfort with practicality. A full U-shaped galley accommodates two cooks and sits adjacent to a generous dinette to starboard. The portside head is positioned opposite the shower for ventilation. The master stateroom features a V-berth with considerable headroom, natural lighting, a hanging locker, and substantial storage. The salon seating arrangement provides 360-degree views through large windows. Fuel consumption runs approximately 4.5 gallons per hour at 8 knots; the boat will exceed 18 knots when running hard.
Recent updates include a 2023 Bimini top and flybridge helm cover, 2021 bottom job, and a 2019 Westerbeke 8.0KW generator. Electrical systems were upgraded in 2020 with dual Balmar alternators, battery charger, 24v-12v inverters, and Siren Marine monitoring. Navigation received a 2020 Garmin GPSMAP 74 chartplotter with NMEA 2000 transducer and autopilot integration. A 2021 hot water heater was installed, and anodes were replaced in 2023.
Included are a 2017 Mercury 310 air-floor tender with gray PVC, a Tohatsu 5 HP four-stroke propane outboard motor, and an assortment of tools and spare parts.
