This 1986 Saturna 33 Pilot is a foam-cored fiberglass cruising sailboat built by Wiggers Custom Yachts to a design by Bill Garden. At 33 feet on deck with a 10-foot-8-inch beam and long-fin keel, she was engineered for offshore capability. The hull combines internal ballast of 5,000 pounds with a displacement of 13,500 pounds. Her 503 square feet of sail area is distributed across a mainsail, 135 percent genoa with furling gear, storm jib, and working jib on a single-spreader aluminum mast.
Below decks, the boat features a single cabin with a V-berth forward, a head with composting toilet and overhead hatch, and a generous galley to port with a three-burner stove and oven. The main salon is lit by eleven windows and includes a dinette that converts to a double berth, a quarter berth on the starboard aft, and extensive storage throughout. Interior woodwork is teak and maple, with teak-and-holly flooring and firm cushions in good condition. A 2009 Vetus Mitsubishi 26-horsepower diesel with 1,763 hours powers the boat through a ZF marine gearbox, with a four-blade feathering propeller and Morse cable controls.
The electrical system includes house batteries, a Renogy solar setup with two 100-watt panels, an EFOY methanol fuel cell, and a West Marine inverter. Navigation and autopilot equipment from Garmin and Raymarine, installed in 2022, support modern cruising. Updated canvas includes a newer mainsail cover with lazy jacks, winter cover, and window covers. Deck gear comprises a Maxwell electric windlass, dual anchors with chain, pedestal steering, stainless steel pulpit and pushpit, bimini, and teak handrails. The refrigerator was serviced in May 2026; the hull was last hauled, antifouled, and zincs changed in May 2026.
