This 1987 Albin Sports Cruiser is a 28-foot fiberglass trawler with a Down East profile and full walk-around deck. Built by Albin Yachts to Joe Puccia's design, it's powered by a single Isuzu 6BD1 diesel engine rated at 157 horsepower, with 1,990 hours on the clock. The engine burns fuel economically at 2 to 3 gallons per hour and delivers a cruising speed of 9 knots with a 14-knot top speed.
The enclosed pilothouse offers excellent visibility through multiple windows and houses all navigation electronics under the roof. The cabin sleeps two in an oversized V-berth forward, with a head to starboard featuring a Raritan marine toilet and stand-up shower, and the galley to port with an Origo alcohol stove and pressurized hot and cold water. Headroom throughout is 5 feet 10 inches in the cabin and 6 feet 2 inches in the pilothouse. Six opening ports provide cross ventilation, and a reverse-cycle 10,000 BTU air conditioning unit maintains comfort. LED lighting is installed throughout.
Equipment includes a Garmin 2006C chart plotter, Furuno 1622 16-mile radar, Furuno color depth sounder, Si-Tex autopilot, and ICOM M402 VHF. The electrical system runs off two Group 27 batteries installed in 2022 and a ProMariner charger. Deck features include a Lewmar V700 windlass on a teak platform, Bruce 10 kg anchor with 250 feet of rode, fiberglass swim platform with teak inserts and folding ladder, davits for a dinghy, and varnished teak grab rails throughout. The canvas bimini and isinglass drop curtains date to 2019.
Since 2023, the boat has received upgrades across canvas, electrical, and mechanical systems. Custom winterization plumbing is installed, and the hull is USCG documented.
