The 1987 Boston Whaler 17 Montauk is a 16.5-foot center console runabout and fishing platform powered by a single Yamaha 90 hp outboard. The boat features the signature twin sponson hull design that defines the Montauk, offering stability and a dry ride in a compact, maneuverable package. Maximum speed reaches 36.5 knots, with a cruising speed around 26 knots.

This particular example has undergone a comprehensive restoration. The hull received new oyster oem gelcoat, fresh epoxy primer, and new Pettit bottom paint. All stainless steel hardware has been replaced or refurbished, including bow and stern lights, rail stanchions, and the bimini frame. The interior features new nonskid, new upholstery and cushions, new oem rub rail, and a refreshed helm area with new rear seat.

Equipment includes vertical rod holders, a bow locker with through-hull drain and nonskid cover, swim platform, and seadeck. The wood varnish throughout has been restored to a glass-like finish, with most teak components new. All stainless steel railings on the sides and bow have been polished. A new oem bimini is available with red or black canvas options.
