The 1987 Catalina 30 Mark II is a fiberglass sloop built around the design's signature 10-foot 10-inch beam, delivering substantial interior volume and the characteristic spacious feel that made this model a perennial favorite among cruising sailors. The Mark II's T-shaped cockpit suits both single-handed operation and family sailing. Power comes from a reliable Universal M-25XP diesel engine with 25 horsepower.
The boat carries extensive navigation and communication equipment including Raymarine radar, a Navionics chart plotter with integrated depthsounder and fish finder, VHF radio, handheld VHF with AIS, and an ST4000 autopilot. Onboard conveniences include a Norcold refrigerator-freezer, Magma propane grill, and propane stove. A Lewmar anchor windlass with remote control is fitted, and the electrical system features new batteries and a new Victron charger installed in February 2025.
Standing rigging and lifelines were replaced in 2022 with stainless steel; running rigging was also refreshed at that time. A new main sailcover, dodger, and bimini with new canvas were added in October 2025. The propane stove supply line is new as of October 2024, and a new propane tank for the stove was purchased in November 2024. New life jackets are aboard. Bottom paint was applied in 2023, and the ground tackle includes chain, anchor rode, and multiple anchors including new 33-pound bow and 11-pound stainless stern anchors. A solar-powered stainless steel vent fan was installed in October 2024.
