This 35-foot custom aluminum paddle yacht was built in 1987 as a one-off design by Tucker Marine. Powered by a single 180-horsepower Cummins diesel, the boat drives two hydraulic pumps that control distinctive sidewheels fitted with nine articulated feathering buckets each. The shallow draft of less than two feet and hydraulic steering make it exceptionally maneuverable. The boat cruises comfortably at 10 knots on approximately two gallons of fuel per hour, with a top speed exceeding 13 knots.
The aluminum hull measures 35 feet 6 inches in length with a 12-foot 6-inch beam. Forward accommodations include twin berths, while the galley and head are located in the stern. A shower is also aboard. Two watertight bulkheads separate the engine room from the living spaces. Fresh water capacity is 42 gallons across one tank, and fuel capacity totals 80 gallons in two tanks.
The engine was repowered in 2012 with a Cummins 6BT A5.9 diesel now showing 490 hours. The hydraulic pumps were rebuilt that same year. Cast aluminum keel coolers handle engine and hydraulic oil cooling. The boat is wired for 120-volt, 20-amp shore power and includes a battery charger. A compressed air whistle and yellow and white striped sun canopy complete the distinctive character of this sidewheel design.
