The Hi-Star 55 is a 55-foot fiberglass sedan bridge motor yacht built in 1987, powered by twin Caterpillar 3208 diesel engines rated at 750 horsepower. She cruises at 12 knots and reaches 18 knots at full speed. The boat carries substantial fuel and water capacity and features a water maker for extended cruising independence.
The layout centers on a spacious cockpit with good access to the lazarette. Accommodation includes a forward cabin and aft cabin configuration with newer Raritan Marine Elegance electric heads and a Raritan 1700 Series hot water heater. The galley is equipped with a Seaward Princess stove and oven, plus a Kenmore refrigerator. The flybridge has been updated with newer canvas and newly upholstered seating, while forward deck cushions complete the outdoor spaces.
Navigation and control systems are well-equipped: twin Garmin GPSmaps XSV chartplotters at the upper helm and one at the lower helm, Garmin VHF 210AIS and Standard Horizon Explorer radio, Garmin radar, Simrad AP20 autopilot, and Morse throttle controls. A Maxwell windlass handles ground tackle with 200 feet of chain. Air conditioning throughout operates properly, and a 2017 Phasor generator provides shore power independence.
SeaDeck non-slip covering protects the entire main deck. The engines start readily and run without leaks. Owners have maintained the boat with regular service and equipment replacement over time.
