The Hunter Legend 35 is a 1987 fiberglass cruiser with a proven design from the late 1980s. It measures 35 feet 7 inches overall with an 11-foot 9-inch beam and features a backstay-less fractional rig carrying a recut, professionally tuned mainsail and a 135% jib, both updated in 2019 and 2021 respectively. The boat is powered by a Yanmar 3GM diesel engine and includes a Dutchman flaking system for easy sail handling. Standing and running rigging were both renewed in 2019, and a new dodger was installed the same year.
The interior is laid out for comfortable cruising with two cabins—an aft cabin with an athwartships double berth and a forward V-berth—plus a U-shaped galley, enclosed head with shower, nav station, and over 6 feet 2 inches of headroom throughout. The salon is open and spacious, designed to accommodate six in real comfort. A converted fridge (2020), new water heater (2020), and shore power and 12-volt systems support extended cruising.
Recent upgrades to electronics include a Ray Marine autopilot, B&G Triton multifunction display, B&G wireless wind sensor, and B&G depth sensor, all installed between 2023 and 2024. A Fusion stereo system was added in 2023. Engine support systems have been upgraded with a new ProMariner ProNautic battery charger (2024), new bilge pump (2024), and new mainsail block (2023). The bottom is painted yearly, and the boat comes with extra parts.
