1987 Hunter Legend

This 1987 Hunter Legend is a 35-foot 6-inch fiberglass sloop built for responsive coastal cruising. The boat features a winged keel drawing 4 feet 6 inches, a ballast of 4,600 pounds, and a displacement of 13,000 pounds, giving it the stiffness and stability expected from the design. A 27-horsepower Yanmar 3GM diesel inboard engine provides auxiliary power.

The accommodations include a main salon, forward and aft cabins sleeping four, plus a head with a new toilet, sink, and shower. The forward cabin has a built-in sink. The galley is fully equipped with a sink, icebox, and CNG stove. An air conditioner and dehumidifier are installed. Fresh water capacity is 64 gallons, fuel capacity 22 gallons, and holding tank capacity 25 gallons.

The sailing inventory consists of a jib and genoa headsails, a cruising spinnaker, and a newer mainsail. Electronics include VHF and handheld radios, autopilot, depthfinder, speedometer, and wind speed and direction instruments. The steering is wheel-based with an emergency tiller. The boat is outfitted with two anchors, cockpit cushions, life vests, a searchlight, and standard boat tools.

The boat was sailed exclusively in fresh water and has been well-maintained throughout its service life.
