1987 Jefferson 42 SE Sundeck Motor Yacht

This 1987 Jefferson 42 SE is a solid fiberglass motor yacht built for serious cruising. Twin Perkins turbo-diesel engines of 240 horsepower each deliver 2,300 original hours, with closed fresh water cooling and modern fuel conditioning. The boat cruises at 8.2 knots and features a modified-V hull with long-keel configuration for directional stability. Cabin headroom reaches 6 feet 4 inches throughout. A custom-fabricated stainless steel hardtop with full isinglass enclosure was added to the flying bridge as a major upgrade, and the aft deck includes a full-beam fiberglass hardtop cover with clear acrylic wing doors and teak furnishings for entertaining.

The accommodation plan includes two staterooms and two heads. The master stateroom spans the full beam and features an island-style bed, with a private head containing a bath and shower stall. A second stateroom forward sleeps additional guests. The main saloon is bright and open, with a lower helm station positioned for inside operation, a large galley with electric cooktop and oven, and a convertible dinette that sleeps two. Interior joinery and sole are hand-rubbed natural teak, and the galley includes a full-size refrigerator, microwave, and double stainless steel sinks.

The boat has undergone extensive refurbishment addressing previous leaks and hull concerns. The fiberglass hull was treated for blisters and received two coats of Interlux barrier coating, followed by fresh bottom paint in spring 2022. Interior wood damaged by previous leaks was professionally rebuilt, including new teak bulkheads. New windows and portholes were installed throughout. Recent work includes new salon furniture and curtains, new refrigerator and galley faucet, replaced intercoolers and alternator, and refreshed teak railwork. Navigation electronics include dual VHF radios, GPS, radar, and autopilot at both helm stations. The boat is equipped with an 8-kilowatt Westerbeke diesel generator, a 3-kilowatt inverter, comprehensive battery systems, and three-zone reverse-cycle air conditioning. A 10-foot Trinka dinghy with 2-horsepower Honda outboard and sailing package is included, stowed on the aft deck by davit.
