1987 Pacific Seacraft Dana 24

The 1987 Pacific Seacraft Dana 24 is a 24-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat built for efficiency and seaworthiness. The Dana 24 design combines a balanced sail plan with individual, manageable-sized sails, high ballast ratio, and a sophisticated hull that deliver strong windward performance and striking maneuverability across all points of sail. The boat is forgiving to handle, equally suited to short-handed crew or singlehanded operation, and manages the apparent contradiction of being both comfort-focused and genuinely capable—several Dana 24s have completed circumnavigations.

Traditional styling defines the boat inside and out. The exterior features a beefy bow pulpit, sleek sheerline, chrome bronze deck hardware, and teak loop handrails on the cabin top. Below deck, the salon showcases hand-rubbed, oiled teak with teak joinery, cabinets, and a teak-and-holly sole. Six feet one inch of headroom makes the interior feel spacious for a 24-footer. The full galley includes a gimbaled two-burner propane stove with oven and broiler, a large insulated icebox, and a 10-inch-deep sink with hand pump. A fold-up extension expands counter space. The head compartment to starboard houses the head, sink with hand pump, integral shower pan, and hanging locker for wet gear.

Sleeping accommodation includes two 6'6" settees and a forward berth measuring 6'8" long and 6'9" wide—comfortable for four people. A dining table slides from beneath the V-berth and hinges at center to fit around the interior post, usable fully or partially extended. The boat is equipped with a 27-foot bowsprit and skeg rudder, and includes a 1988 Coose trailer.

Recent work on the boat encompasses engine tuning, oil change, electrical wiring inspection, and shaft packing adjustment. The head was replaced in 2022, and the shower pump was renewed. The bottom was soda blasted and repainted with anti-fouling paint in 2020, and the fuel tank was recently flushed and cleaned. Two newer marine batteries are installed. The 18-horsepower Yanmar diesel provides auxiliary power.
