This 1987 President 37 is a fiberglass trawler built to deliver spacious, comfortable cruising. The design pairs a two-stateroom, two-head layout with both an enclosed sundeck and flybridge, creating abundant indoor and covered outdoor living space throughout the boat. Large cabin windows and teak joinery brighten the interior, while the galley-down arrangement keeps the layout practical and functional for extended time aboard.
The single Ford Lehman Super 225 diesel engine drives the boat to 8.3 knots at cruising speed and 9.4 knots at full throttle—efficient performance typical of this powerplant. An Onan 8kW generator supplies ship's power, supplemented by a solar charging system with Victron MPPT controllers, a Magnum Energy inverter/charger, and battery monitoring. Dual helm stations, bow and stern thrusters, Raymarine navigation electronics, and a Standard Horizon VHF with AIS/GPS round out the control and navigation suite. Diesel heat, a watermaker, and an enclosed engine room complete the core systems.
The aft master stateroom features a walkaround queen berth with ensuite head, while the forward cabin offers single bunks for guests. An Achilles hard-bottom tender with 15 HP Honda outboard, spare prop, extra anchor, and additional equipment are included.
Recent service from February 2025 includes bottom paint with Seahawk Cukote black, replacement zinc anodes, and prop work. A mechanical inspection in February 2024 found the main engine and generator in good operating condition with no unusual wear metals detected in oil analysis.
