1987 Wauquiez Centurion 47

The Wauquiez Centurion 47 is a 47-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built in 1987 by the French shipyard Wauquiez. Designed by Ed Dubois, she was one of 48 Centurion 47s produced between 1984 and 1990. The design combines seaworthiness and open-water capability with a shoal draft of 6 feet, making her suitable for cruising, racing, and blue-water sailing. She is powered by a single Yanmar diesel engine.

Below deck, the yacht accommodates three staterooms and two heads. The interior was recently refitted with custom cabinetry, woodwork, and Corian countertops with rounded edging and thoughtfully arranged storage.

The hull underwent a significant refresh in which it was ground down, with approximately 4000 pounds removed. Half an inch of the original material was taken off and replaced with three layers of XM-18 and epoxy resin, vacuum-bagged and finished with Awlgrip. The topsides are finished in stark white with a navy boot stripe, while the bottom is painted in Awlgrip Trinidad black. The bottom paint is scheduled to be refreshed in December 2024.

The teak decks will require removal and either replacement or filling and refinishing as part of preparation for the next owner. The rig has been removed and is available separately.
