1988 Alden 46

The Alden 46 is a proven cruising yacht built by one of New England's premier semi-custom makers. She features a classic profile with an aft cockpit, shoal-draft keel paired with a hydraulically operated centerboard, and a warm satin-varnished teak interior. The centerboard design—raising to 5'4" and lowering to 10'1"—opens access to shallow anchorages and cruising grounds beyond the reach of conventional fin keels.

Accommodations comprise two staterooms and two heads. The forward owner's suite includes an ensuite head with separate shower. An aft cabin converts to a queen berth, and a second head positioned near the companionway serves as guest facilities. Layout comfortably sleeps seven.

The yacht underwent a substantial refit between 2014 and 2015, which included an Awlgrip flag-blue hull finish, new bow thruster, serviced rig and mast, refinished bottom and keel, replacement heads (one electric), updated holding tank and plumbing, and an overhaul of the Navtec hydraulic system with an added ram for the centerboard, backstay, and boom vang.

Power comes from a 55 hp Westerbeke diesel engine. Key systems include a Northern Lights 4.5 kW generator with sound shield, Seafrost 12V holding-plate refrigeration, and a full navigation suite with radar, GPS plotter, SSB radio, EPIRB, and autopilot.
