The 1988 Atlas Boat Works Omega is a 36-foot fiberglass sailing yacht fundamentally rebuilt over five years for extended ocean cruising. The boat combines classical design with modern systems: a Selden K21-C225 mast with double spreaders and stainless steel standing rigging, a 2024 Dacron mainsail, and a three-blade folding propeller. Power comes from a Solé MINI-44 Mitsubishi diesel engine producing 42 horsepower, with just 651 hours of operation and a recent overhaul in 2023. The yacht cruises at 7 knots under engine.
Below deck, the Omega sleeps four across two double cabins, each with its own companionway hatch for privacy and ventilation. A spacious saloon contains the galley and chart table, with generous stowage and bilge space throughout. The galley features a new Dometic cooker with oven and two burners, a refreshed refrigerator unit, and an updated hot water system with new pipework. Both heads are fully equipped. On deck, a cockpit with folding table, bimini shade, and swim ladder provide comfort and access.
Electronics and automation are current: a Raymarine AXIOM+ 9 RV plotter with 3D sounder (2024), an EV-200 Sail autopilot with nine-axis gyroscope (2021), and a VHF antenna. Power generation includes two 110-watt SunPower solar panels with Victron regulation (2023), twin NAPA AGM battery banks installed in 2024, and a Victron battery charger. An electric windlass assists anchor handling. The sails, rigging, and running gear were partially renewed in 2024.
