The Bayfield 36 Cutter is a 1988 fiberglass cruising sailboat with a 36-foot hull and 12.5-foot beam. She has undergone substantial updates through 2024, including a new Beta Marine 43 hp diesel engine, new sails, and a Lofrans Tiger windlass with a Rocna Vulcan anchor. Twin electric bow thrusters—an 8-inch unit and a Sleipner SE80/185T with helm-mounted joystick—provide fine control in close quarters.
The electrical system has been modernized with 400 watts of solar panels, Victron MPPT controllers, and a Victron MultiPlus 3000W inverter. Navigation is handled by a Raymarine Axiom+ 9-inch chartplotter with AIS transceiver and a Raymarine P70 autopilot with wireless remote. A Windmill Air Breeze 40 wind generator supplements the power system.
Below deck, the accommodation includes a three-burner ENO stove with oven, a Nova Kool refrigerator (replaced in 2020), a new Wabasto Isotemp 20-liter hot water heater powered by 120 volts and engine heat exchanger, and a Force10 10000 propane heating system with roof-mounted flue. Water capacity is 90 gallons in dual 45-gallon tanks, and fuel is carried in a 45-gallon aluminum tank. A Seawater Pro watermaker and NatureHead composting toilet complete the systems.
Additional equipment includes dinghy davits in stainless steel, a Highfield 310 inflatable with aluminum floor, and a Johnson 15 hp outboard from 2004.
