The Hatteras 40 Double Cabin is a 40-foot sedan-bridge yacht with a modified-vee fiberglass hull built for stability and seakeeping. Twin Yammer 6LP diesel engines producing 630 horsepower total power the boat, paired with bronze three-blade propellers. The engines were replaced in 2007 and have logged under 600 hours of operation.
Two private cabins and two heads serve as the main accommodation spaces. The master cabin is generous in proportion, and teak finishes the interior throughout. Storage is plentiful, with built-in lockers and cabinetry integrated into the layout. A large engine room provides access for maintenance and systems monitoring.
The boat carries a 7-kilowatt Westerbeke diesel generator for independent power. Two reverse-cycle air-conditioning and heating units manage climate control across the accommodations. Dual VacuFlush heads serve both cabins. The sundeck is spacious, and canvas canopy covers the flybridge for weather protection.
Recent maintenance includes new rudders and fresh bottom paint. The boat remains in serviceable condition with its low engine hours and recent repower, supported by quality Hatteras construction throughout.
