1988 Island Packet 27

This 1988 Island Packet 27 is a full-keel cutter built for serious cruising. The design has earned a reputation for heavy-weather capability and seaworthiness, with particular appeal to those seeking a manageable bluewater platform or comfortable liveaboard experience.

Power comes from a Yanmar 2GM18 diesel engine rated at 18 horsepower. An electric windlass with Rocna anchor simplifies anchoring operations. The sails are in excellent condition and include a Mack Pack cover for protection and handling. A new 7.5-foot hard-bottom dinghy with 6.5 horsepower outboard and davits is included.

Below deck, the layout follows Island Packet's classic arrangement: a spacious V-berth forward, large saloon with substantial storage, full galley, and quarter berth. The interior is finished in the solid fiberglass construction and joinery characteristic of the builder, with bright, airy accommodations. Equipment includes a composting toilet, alcohol stove, top-load refrigerator, and a 31-gallon fresh water tank. New Bimini and Dodger canvas provide cockpit protection, and the brightwork has been recently restored.
