1988 Ocean Yachts 48 Super Sport

The 1988 Ocean Yachts 48 Super Sport is a convertible fishing yacht built on a fiberglass hull, measuring 48 feet with a 15-foot beam. Twin Detroit Diesel 6-71 engines deliver 970 horsepower combined, with a cruising speed of 20 knots at approximately 18 gallons per hour and a top speed of 30 knots. The yacht is outfitted with a Westerbeke 12.5kW generator, trim tabs, and twin rebuilt heat exchangers.

The interior features three staterooms and two full heads, with a full galley, large freezer, and climate control via reverse-cycle air conditioning and heat. The cockpit includes a fish and tackle center, live well, teak coaming pads, a hardtop with electronics, tuna tower with controls and autopilot, outriggers, wide transom door, and lower cockpit controls.

Substantial recent maintenance and upgrades include new deck paint and refinished exterior teak completed in 2026, new interior blinds, bilge pumps, and starboard transmission rebuild with fresh shaft. The 2025 refit added new engine starters and alternators. Port and starboard engine turbos were replaced in 2019, with new exhaust manifold and turbo gaskets in 2021. The 2020 upgrade brought a new Furuno 3D side-scan fishfinder with transducer and new radar motor and rotating bar. Additional work includes all through-hulls replaced, new driveshaft zincs, new batteries, updated AC service, and recessed lighting throughout.
