1988 Sabre 34 MK II

This 1988 Sabre 34 MK II is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built to the standards the Sabre name represents. At 34 feet with an 11-foot beam, she offers substantial comfort for extended cruising while remaining manageable. Her freshwater history—including passages through the Great Lakes to Georgian Bay and a full circumnavigation of Lake Ontario—speaks to her seaworthiness and reliability.

Deck equipment includes aft-led controls, Lewmar self-tailing winches, and dorade ventilation. The dodger and bimini are newer, with a connector between them. Teak handrails and cap rails are varnished to a high gloss, and the mast was repainted in 2022. On the water she carries a Quantum mainsail from 2008, a Doyle 155% furling genoa from 2014 with Harken furling system, and a cruising spinnaker. A Rocna 33-pound anchor with 70 feet of chain and a Lewmar secondary provide ground tackle.

Below, the galley sits to port with a CNG oven and stove, double stainless sinks, and refrigeration. A navigation station with chart table sits to starboard aft, complete with ship's manuals and logs. Forward is a main cabin with V-berth. The main salon features settees to port and starboard with Sabre's basketweave cabinets overhead, a bulkhead table that configures two ways, and the port settee converts to a double berth. The head and shower lie forward to port. A double pilot-berth to starboard serves guests or off-watch crew.

Her Westerbeke 27-horsepower diesel engine had 2,460 hours as of June 2024, with annual oil changes and seasonal fuel filter service. The propeller is a 2017 Flexofold unit; the cutless bearing was replaced in 2015. Electronics include Garmin GPSmap 541, DataMarine instruments, ICOM VHF, and Raymarine autopilot. Electrical systems include three AGM batteries from 2019, a Xantrex charger, and 120 watts of solar with MPPT controller. She comes with a Walker Bay 8 sailing dinghy, Nissan 3.5-horsepower outboard, Force 10 CNG grill, and a steel cradle.
