The Shannon 43 is a proven design renowned for bluewater cruising, combining timeless hull form with solid construction and meticulous detailing. This 1988 example features a shallow-draft keel/centerboard hull drawing 4'9" that reduces to 8'7" for offshore work, paired with a powerful cutter rig stepping 63 feet to suit Intracoastal waters. Power comes from a 75-horsepower Yanmar turbo diesel with 150 gallons of fuel capacity.

The interior spans two cabins and two heads with teak joinery throughout. Forward is a V-berth convertible to a double, finished in Herreshoff style with white hull ceilings, substantial storage, and an opening hatch plus bronze ports. The main salon amidships features L-shaped and single settees flanking a drop-leaf teak table seating six, with bookshelf storage and louvered cabinets. The galley is U-shaped with stainless double sink, Seafrost refrigeration, and propane cooking. An aft head with dual access connects to a private double-cabin featuring a sliding door, hanging locker, and drawer storage. An Espar diesel heating system provides warmth for cold passages.

Navigation electronics include dual Garmin 7212xsv chart plotters with AIS at helm and nav station, multifunction displays, color radar, and a Standard Horizon VHF with AIS. Deck gear encompasses an Ideal 12-volt windlass, dual anchors with chain and rode, Harken winches, double lifelines, and jack lines. Doyle sails include a battened main with stack-pack, furling staysail and genoa, plus storm trysail and spinnaker. A bow thruster, max-prop three-blade propeller, and 110-amp alternator support cruising operation.

Hull construction uses composite core with no keelbolts, biaxial laminates, and Corecell and Divinylcell foams—no balsa. An inflatable dinghy with 15-horsepower Yamaha outboard, liferaft, EPIRB, and standard safety equipment complete the outfit.
