This 1989 Black Watch Custom 35 is a 35-foot sportfish boat built on a fiberglass hull, powered by two Nanni T4-270 diesel engines producing 270 horsepower each. The boat was designed by C. Raymond Hunt, whose reputation spans work for Bertram, Boston Whaler, and Viking. Black Watch boats built by Ted Hood are recognized for their handling and seaworthiness, making this model suitable for both commercial and recreational fishing.
The boat underwent a significant refit that included installation of new Nanni engines with Glendinning electric operating systems and Kanzaki 2.13:1 reverse gears. The pilothouse was rebuilt with an aluminum frame and fiberglass hardtop, fitted with an aluminum-framed safety glass windshield enclosure and handrails along both port and starboard sides. Engine controls are positioned at both the helm and transom.
Navigation and fishing electronics include a Simrad chart plotter and radar, VHF radio, and depth sounder. The boat is equipped with hydraulic steering, eight stainless steel rod holders, a washdown pump, search and flood lights, stainless steel railings, and a bow pulpit. A tuna door is fitted aft.
Below, the forward cabin features a V-berth, a port-side stainless steel sink with pressure water, cupboards, and ample storage. The boat is fuel-efficient and designed for extended time on the water, whether for commercial operation or recreational fishing.
