The 1989 Boston Whaler Challenger is a 25-foot pilothouse model with a fiberglass hull and an aluminum pilot house and deck. It's powered by twin Yamaha 250-horsepower V6 four-stroke outboards mounted on a Whaler Drive bracket. This boat was custom-built for commercial and government use, making it a heavy-duty design distinct from standard recreational Whalers.
The boat is equipped with navigation electronics including a Furuno NAVnet TZtouch2 multi-function display with GPS and an Airmar B260 transducer for deep-water sonar. Onboard features include a VHF radio, underwater light, underwater camera, bait tank with livewell, and SeaDek flooring throughout. An aluminum deck storage box and lookout tower provide practical working space and visibility.
A full restoration was completed in 2025. The boat includes a heavy-duty triple-axle trailer. Optima batteries power the electrical system.
