The Chris-Craft 427 Catalina is a 42-foot fiberglass motor yacht built for serious cruising in coastal waters. Her modified-V hull and 14.75-foot beam create a stable, seaworthy platform well-suited to the Chesapeake and variable sea conditions. Twin Crusader 454 gasoline engines produce 750 horsepower combined, delivering a cruising speed of 17 knots and a maximum speed of 23 knots.
The layout centers on a spacious, light-filled main salon with full carpeting replaced four years ago. An enclosed aft deck with isinglass panels opens to a wet bar and outdoor living space, while the flybridge provides commanding visibility and helm seating. Forward of the salon, the galley is fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, double sink, and substantial storage. A convertible dinette sits to port.
Two full staterooms provide comfortable accommodation. The full-beam master aft features a walkaround queen bed and ensuite head with enclosed shower. The forward stateroom, accessible from the galley, also has a walkaround queen bed, ensuite head, vanity, and a combined washer-dryer unit. Two separate reverse-cycle air and heat units serve the salon and master, and the forward stateroom respectively.
Deck equipment includes a windlass, dock boxes, fender racks, and an aft swim platform. Engine room access is through a large hatch in the salon sole. The boat carries twin heads and offers practical, proven accommodations for extended cruising and living aboard.
