1989 Grand Banks 42 Classic

The 1989 Grand Banks 42 Classic is a proven trawler design built on a fiberglass semi-displacement hull with full keel and hard chines. Twin Caterpillar 3208 diesel engines produce 375 horsepower each, with approximately 3,800 hours logged. The boat cruises at 9 knots and is capable of higher speeds when needed. A full keel and twin-engine configuration make her stable and relatively easy to handle without thrusters. Teak decks, wide side decks with port and starboard entry doors, and a folding mast complete the working design.

The upper helm is outfitted with a hardtop featuring canvas and isinglass in very good condition, L-shaped seating with storage, and double captain's chairs. Below deck, the layout includes a master stateroom aft with a redesigned queen walk-around berth and private head with separate shower, plus a forward guest stateroom with V-berth and private head. The main salon features an L-shaped settee, teak flooring, a bar with ice maker, and entertainment systems. The galley is equipped with a Princess cooktop and oven, upgraded refrigerator, microwave, and large stainless sink.

Navigation and electronics include a Garmin GPSmap 740S, Simrad autopilot with multiple displays, Raymarine HybridTouch multifunction display and radar, wind and depth instruments at both helms, and a TracVision satellite system. A Westerbeke 9kW generator has been rebuilt. The deck includes an electric windlass, primary plow anchor with 125 feet of chain, secondary Danforth anchor, and davit system on the aft deck. Recent work includes new bottom paint, new zincs, and tuned bronze propellers. The cooling system was serviced two years ago, and maintenance logs are documented.
