The Morris Ocean Series 32 is a refined cruising sailboat designed by Chuck Paine in collaboration with Morris Yachts. Built with a solid hand-laid fiberglass hull reinforced at the keel, mast step, and stringers, the boat combines traditional styling with a modern underbody and rig. The semi-balanced skeg-hung rudder provides responsive steering while protecting the rudder itself. A moderate-draft Scheel keel and feathering propeller suit the boat to varied anchorages and sailing conditions.
The interior is bright and traditionally finished in white laminate with satin-varnished teak, centered around a full-width main cabin with a convertible L-shaped settee to port that becomes a double berth. The nav station sits to starboard opposite the galley, with a full-beam head amidships and a generously sized V-berth forward. Abundant natural light comes from nine opening portlights and two large Bomar hatches, while a CNG heater handles cold-weather comfort. The galley features a gimbaled two-burner Force 10 propane stove with oven, manual fresh water pumps, and a Seagull filter system.
Power comes from a Yanmar 3YM30 diesel engine with 29 horsepower, installed new in 2018 and showing 136 hours as of September 2025. The boat carries a 22-gallon fuel tank, 52-gallon fresh water bladder, and a 14-inch feathering Max Prop propeller on a dripless shaft. A Lewmar electric windlass handles ground tackle, and systems throughout have been recently replaced or serviced: new Raritan manual toilet (2019), new cutlass bearing (2017), new macerator pump (2017), and new holding tank and hoses (2017).
Rigging and sails are comprehensive and well-maintained. The aluminum mast carries North 3Di main and furling genoa sails (both 2021), supported by a Harken MK-IV headstay furler (2020) and integral hydraulic backstay adjuster. Six bronze Barient winches handle sheets and halyards. Electronics include a Garmin GPSMap 942 chartplotter with integrated instruments, Reactor 40 autopilot, Icom M810 SSB radio, and full navigation suite. The battery bank comprises two Optima Blue Top house batteries and one Blue Top starting battery (all new 2021), with a Xantrex TrueCharge2 charger for shorepower charging.
