1989 Nordhavn 46

The Nordhavn 46 is a full-displacement trawler designed for serious long-range cruising and ocean passages. Built with a solid fiberglass hull below the waterline, the boat features a traditional trawler profile with a Portuguese bridge, wide side decks, and a protected aft deck. Dimensions are approximately 46 feet in length and 15 feet 5 inches in beam, with a displacement of around 60,000 pounds. Fuel capacity of approximately 1,000 gallons and water capacity of 280 gallons support extended voyages away from port.

Power comes from two Lugger diesel engines—a primary engine paired with an auxiliary wing engine for redundancy and improved maneuvering in tight spaces. The boat is optimized for economical cruising at 7 to 8 knots rather than speed, with a top speed of approximately 9 knots. A dry-stack exhaust and keel-cooling system support quiet, reliable operation. Electrical systems include a generator and inverter/charger for self-sufficient cruising.

The raised pilothouse provides excellent visibility and direct deck access. The main salon features a well-equipped galley and comfortable seating with abundant storage throughout. Two staterooms accommodate up to four people: an amidships owner's cabin with a walk-around queen bed and a forward cabin with a full bed and sofa. The interior is finished in teak, giving the space a warm, traditional aesthetic.
