1989 Ocean Yachts 48 Super Sport

This 1989 Ocean Yachts 48 Super Sport is a fiberglass sportfish with a 48-foot hull and 16-foot beam, powered by twin Detroit Diesel 671 engines rated at 970 horsepower. The boat is currently undergoing selective refits and modernization work. The starboard engine is in full working order; the port engine requires service to its turbo and air systems. Both engines would benefit from thorough cleaning of their pressurized air and turbo systems.

The three-stateroom, two-head layout includes a spacious salon with a 40-inch television, new speakers, and a Boss stereo system. Original carpet is in decent condition. The galley has been updated with new refrigeration, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and kitchen faucet. Fresh water systems, including the tank, pump, and all spigots, function without leaks. A washer and dryer are installed under the companionway steps, and the central vacuum system is operational with all components accessible.

Recent work includes new air conditioning condenser units for the salon and staterooms, though the controller still requires installation and the raw water supply line may need upgrading from the existing three-quarter-inch thru hull to support both units effectively. The generator was serviced less than 50 hours ago with a complete system flush and oil change. New spotlight with remote control, 24-volt cockpit lighting, and new under-boat RGB lamps with switch are installed. The pulpit anchor motor and footswitch operate properly. Existing issues include the septic system, which has been dismantled pending replacement with modern components, helm controls (synchronizer, trim tab, and navigation electronics) requiring updates, and the outriggers stored beneath the hull needing cleaning and re-lining. Props, shaft, hanger bearings, and seals are in good condition.
