1989 Trehard 98

AIZU is a 99-foot aluminum-hulled sailing yacht built by French yard Tréhard Marine in 1989. Designed as a serious offshore cruiser, she combines high-performance sailing characteristics with the shallow draft and practical accommodations needed for blue-water passages and coastal exploration alike. Twin Steyr diesel engines deliver 462 horsepower, with cruising speeds around 5.4 knots and a maximum speed of 7 knots.

The layout centers on six cabins and six heads, with four equally sized double staterooms that work well for private cruising or charter groups. The shallow draft opens shallow-water cruising grounds while maintaining the seaworthiness and offshore capability of a proper sailing yacht.

The yacht has undergone multiple refit periods since delivery, including major work in 2023 that brought the interior fully up to date with new American black walnut flooring, refreshed systems, and a clean interior aesthetic. New sails were installed in 2019, and a full rig service and five-year survey were recently completed. Earlier upgrades took place in 2007, 2019, 2020, and 2022.
