1990 Camargue 48

The Camargue 48 is a 48-foot sedan-bridge yacht built in 1990 with a semi-displacement hull designed for both coastal cruising and liveaboard use. Twin Caterpillar 3208 diesel engines produce 425 horsepower each and have logged 2,508 hours, supported by a Northern Lights 8.5 kW generator. The boat cruises at 14 knots with a maximum speed of 17 knots and features a wide 15.5-foot beam that provides excellent stability. A bow thruster, Hynautic steering system, and full electronic redundancy—including dual Furuno chartplotters at upper and lower helms with autopilot—support comfortable operation.

Accommodations include three staterooms with the middle cabin currently configured as an office but convertible to a double berth, plus two heads and two showers. The interior showcases Japanese ash joinery with practical layout. The galley has a Princess stove with oven, Vitrifrigo refrigeration units, and a water purification system. An onboard washer/dryer and granite countertops (upgraded in 2017) complete the living spaces. A Novurania 11-foot RIB with 25 hp Mercury outboard and davit system provides tender capability, while modern systems include Starlink satellite internet, AIS, and comprehensive navigation electronics.

A major refit in 2019 included full paint and nonskid restoration, rebedded portlights and windows, replaced bulwarks and doors, complete bottom work with barrier coat and fresh antifouling, and new electronics. Recent work includes turbo rebuilds, fuel injector replacement, transmission service, windlass motor replacement, and battery renewal. The owner's background in industrial diesel systems is reflected in proactive maintenance: annual waxing, biweekly washing, bottom paint renewal every two years, regular zinc replacement, and oil sampling records. Mechanical upgrades throughout the boat's life include upgraded fuel systems, improved aftercoolers, enhanced bilge monitoring, and fire suppression equipment.
