1990 Ditmar & Donaldson 28’

This 1990 Ditmar & Donaldson 28' is a fiberglass-hulled cruiser built by the same maker known for quality offshore boats. The hull design delivers a smooth, dry ride across a range of sea conditions, planes easily at various speeds, and handles following swells well. The boat was repowered with a single Yanmar diesel that cruises efficiently around 20 knots at 3000 RPM, with an estimated range of 250 miles and fuel consumption near 2 MPG.

The fuel system includes two brand new 50-gallon tanks installed in 2022 and a 25-gallon auxiliary tank. The boat carries a full suite of modern electronics: a Garmin GPSMAP 8612xsv touchscreen with dual-frequency sonar, an autopilot with remote control for the upper station, and a Garmin bronze thru-hull transducer. A complete electrical system overhaul in 2023 replaced all wiring, fuses, and breakers. A dual Racor fuel filtration system is fitted throughout.

The layout includes an enclosed head and V-berth suitable for overnight cruising, a built-in transom bait tank, and a newly added full upper control station in the tuna tower completed in 2025. The wide beam provides stability and the deck offers ample space with easy access between control stations. An oversized anchor is aboard.
