1990 Kempers Langedrag

A 1990 Kempers Langedrag steel sailing yacht built for expedition work and extended cruising. This 49-foot boat was designed by Långedrag Marin in Sweden and constructed by Kempers BV in the Netherlands, then fully equipped in Norway. The hull is 5–6 mm steel with 8 mm aluminum superstructure, and the boat is winter-insulated with 10 cm ceiling and 7 cm wall insulation. The rig is a Seldén mast and boom in extra-strong dimensions, with furling mainsail, genoa, and staysail from 2019 (the genoa requires service). A 115 hp Beta diesel engine with Kubota base was installed in 2018 and has logged 2,700 hours; maximum speed is 8 knots.

Accommodation includes a large saloon, spacious galley, and four cabins sleeping 8–9 berths total. The boat carries a dishwasher, 140-liter freezer, three-burner stove with oven, refrigerator, and washing machine with dryer. A 5 KvA generator powers the systems, while a modern lithium battery bank of 800 Ah charges at up to 250 amps via engine and generator. A 350-watt solar panel, watermaker producing 80–100 liters per hour, and 100 meters of anchor chain support long-passage operation. Additional equipment includes a 10 hp Sleipner bow thruster, vacuum toilets, autopilot, AIS, GPS, and stainless steel railings around the deck.

The boat requires cosmetic and maintenance work. The paint is worn and the deck needs attention. Three salon windows are broken. The genoa needs service, and the generator should be modernized. Interior bulkheads in the forward section and the engine room floor need welding repairs and painting. The propeller shaft seal requires replacement, and the fan motor and draft shield need renewal. Bottom lubrication is also due.
