This 1990 Ocean Alexander 42 Sedan is a composite-hulled motor yacht built during the model's celebrated seven-year production run, of which only 140 were made. Powered by twin Caterpillar 3208 diesel engines producing 375 horsepower each, the boat delivers a cruising speed of 15 knots and a maximum speed of 21 knots. The design combines a full flybridge with commanding sightlines and generous entertaining space, a large cockpit with transom door and swim platform, and a bright main salon featuring a lower helm station, pull-out sofa, and well-equipped galley.
Below deck, the accommodation plan centers on a forward owner's stateroom with centerline queen bed, cedar-lined closet, and storage drawers. A port guest cabin offers twin beds, cedar-lined closet, and built-in dresser. The head features a separate shower. Both the upper and lower helms are equipped with Raymarine chartplotters and integrated radar, Standard Horizon VHF, Fusion stereo systems, engine instruments, and full controls for trim tabs, windlass, and stern thruster.
The mechanical systems include a 2018 Northern Lights 9-kilowatt generator, dual Dometic reverse-cycle air conditioning units replaced in 2023, Groco pressure water system, Raritan hot water heater, and Bennett trim tabs. A Rocna 25 anchor with swivel and new Maxwell windlass were installed in 2020. Recent work includes a new Raritan macerator head installed in 2024, pressure water pump replacement in 2024, bottom paint in 2024, and a reverse osmosis water filtration system for the galley.
