The 1990 Ocean Alexander 420 Sport Sedan is a 42-foot fiberglass motor yacht built during a limited seven-year production run of just 140 units. Powered by a single Detroit diesel engine rated at 400 horsepower, the boat cruises at 20 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 28 knots, with a fuel consumption of 15 gallons per hour at cruise. The hull spans 14.5 feet in beam and reflects Ocean Alexander's characteristic Northwest design and solid construction.
The main salon features a spacious, light-filled interior with exceptional headroom and panoramic views. The layout includes a comfortable helm station positioned forward, with a well-equipped galley integrated nearby. Forward is an owner's suite with a queen berth, cedar-lined storage, and dedicated heating. A guest cabin to port offers twin berths and additional cedar storage. A dedicated head with a separate shower stall completes the accommodation plan.
The engine underwent a complete rebuild in 2020, with 650 hours on the port unit and 600 hours on the starboard since that work. The transmission is a TwinDisk with trolling gear. Heating is handled by a six-zone Webasto hydronic diesel system, rebuilt in 2023. A 40-gallon-per-hour watermaker was installed in 2021. Air conditioning pumps were replaced in 2024, and a new macerator pump was fitted the same year. Bottom paint and professionally tuned propellers were done in 2023. A full flybridge enclosure with sunscreens and window covers protects the upper deck. The boat carries a range exceeding 450 miles at cruise speed.
