1990 Ocean Alexander 48 Sedan

The 1990 Ocean Alexander 48 Sedan is a fiberglass cruising yacht built around twin Detroit Diesel 6-71 turbo engines, each rated at 425 horsepower. Designed by Ed Monk Jr., the boat combines traditional lines with a seaworthy hull suited to Pacific Northwest coastal and offshore cruising. The twin engines deliver economical fuel consumption and are noted for their durability and straightforward serviceability—the engine room layout supports hands-on maintenance.

Inside, the yacht features a three-stateroom layout with traditional teak cabinetry and warm wood finishes throughout. The forward master stateroom has an ensuite head, while two midship guest cabins share a second head. The main salon flows into the galley and lower helm, with large windows providing visibility across the space. A flybridge, covered aft deck, and wide side decks offer multiple outdoor living areas.

The boat is equipped with dual steering stations, ZF electronic controls, and a bow thruster. Navigation and communication gear includes 24- and 48-mile radar, two GPS chartplotters, autopilot, and engine synchronizers. Power systems comprise an 8-kilowatt Onan generator (1,687 hours), 2,500-watt inverter, 60-amp smart charger, and multiple battery banks. Additional onboard systems include a water maker, Espar D5WSC furnace, 2-way anchor windlass, and VacuFlush heads with two shower stalls.

Recent maintenance included new coolant in both main engines, cleaning of heat exchangers and aftercoolers, and replacement of impellers and zincs. The boat comes equipped with a 13-foot Boston Whaler tender and fully enclosed bridge canvas.
