1990 Slocum 43

The Slocum 43 is a classic double-ended cutter designed for extended blue water cruising. Built in 1990 with a fiberglass hull and measuring 43 feet in length with a 12.75-foot beam, this yacht combines traditional offshore styling with practical seaworthiness. Power comes from a 75-horsepower Yammer diesel engine, which delivers a cruising speed of 6.7 knots and a maximum speed of 8 knots.

The layout includes two cabins and one head, providing comfortable accommodation for cruising crews. The cockpit is deep and well-protected, a design priority for long-distance sailing in varying conditions. A Northern Lights generator supplies electrical power for extended passages.

The boat has been regularly maintained and upgraded over its service life. The original engine was replaced with the current Yammer diesel in 2006. Teak decks were completely renewed in 2017, and the generator underwent major overhaul in 2018. A watermaker is installed aboard, supporting self-sufficient cruising operations.
