The Freedom F-38 is a 38-foot fiberglass sloop designed for offshore cruising. Her freestanding mast requires no standing rigging or chain plates, simplifying both maintenance and setup. Power comes from a single 27-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine paired with a 3.5-kilowatt diesel generator that has logged approximately 200 hours of use.
The deck is outfitted for serious sailing. The full-batten mainsail, built by Ullman in 2017, features lazy jacks and a MackPack cover. A self-tacking jib on a Camberspar boom handles everyday sailing, while a triradial gennaker (Code 0) mounted on a Seldon top-down furler added in 2016 extends performance options. The blue hull was painted with Awl-Grip in 2003.
Below deck, the yacht offers two cabins and one head for cruising comfort. Air conditioning and heating are provided by a reverse-cycle marine system. The boat is equipped and maintained to cruise distant waters—the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Bermuda are all within practical range for this design.
