1991 Mako 286

This 1991 Mako 286 is a 28-foot sportfish undergoing a diesel conversion. The previous owner replaced the original gasoline engines with Volvo diesel power, custom-fabricated and TIG-welded motor mounts (galvanized for durability), and a new fuel tank. The bilges have been stripped and repainted. The engines and ZF gearboxes show under 600 hours of use and come with new turbos, fuel pumps, and alternators. The mounts are installed and ready for engine installation.

The boat is equipped with new trim tabs complete with pump and rams, new digital gauges, and new fuel and water separators. Four-blade bronze propellers are included. An aluminum trailer fitted with new stainless disc brakes is part of the package.

The core conversion work is complete. The custom motor mounts, new fuel system, and freshly painted bilges represent the substantial engineering and fabrication required. The path forward is straightforward—final engine installation and systems integration remain.
