1991 Sparkman & Stephens Maxi 88 Cutter Sloop

This 1991 Sparkman & Stephens Maxi 88 is one of only twelve yachts in the limited series, built by CIM in France. The design delivers classical yacht aesthetics alongside genuine offshore capability, with an 88-foot hull that extends to nearly 97 feet including the stern platform. A single 300-horsepower Caterpillar diesel engine drives the yacht to a cruising speed of 8 knots, with a maximum speed of 12 knots.

The interior accommodates six cabins across a thoughtfully laid-out plan: four ensuite guest cabins arranged for comfort and privacy, plus fully separate crew quarters. Five heads service the accommodation. The yacht is equipped with three generators, a 240-liter-per-hour watermaker, full air conditioning throughout, a professional galley, and modern entertainment systems suitable for extended cruising.

Deck features include a hydraulic Tenderlift platform for tender deployment, swim access, and boarding—an uncommon convenience on yachts of this vintage. A cutter sloop rig provides the sail plan.

A comprehensive refit in 2019 included new rigging, repainted spars, refreshed interiors, and overhauled machinery. The yacht is diesel-powered and fiberglass-hulled, professionally maintained and ready for immediate use.
