1991 Trader Trader 47

The 1991 Trader 47 is a 45-foot fiberglass motor yacht powered by twin Caterpillar 3208 diesel engines delivering 850 horsepower. With a beam of nearly 14 feet and a cruising speed of 8 knots, the yacht combines substantial comfort with practical seaworthiness. The twin straight-shaft configuration with fixed bronze propellers and bow thruster provides good maneuverability, while the fuel capacity of 2,400 liters supports extended passages.

The accommodations include three cabins and two heads. The layout features a forward cabin with berths and separate head, an aft cabin with generous under-bed storage, and a pilot house that serves as the main living space. A galley with electric and gas cooking, electric oven, microwave, and multiple refrigeration units supports extended cruising. Showers are located inside the boat and on the swimming platform. The flybridge with bimini cover provides additional outdoor entertaining space.

Between 2022 and 2025, the yacht received comprehensive systems renovation. Both engines underwent complete sea water pump overhauls, new impellers, cutlass bearing replacements, and exhaust system rebuilds. The propellers and shafts were stripped and repainted. New alternators, starters, and all major filters and belts were installed. The house and starter battery banks were replaced with new Varta heavy-duty units, and a Studer inverter-charger system with 80-amp solar charge controller and three 410-watt solar panels were added.

Structural and deck work included new cork flooring forward, re-caulked teak decks throughout, and reinforced stainless steel steps on flybridge and swimming platform stairs. A new Lofrans Tigress anchor windlass with 75 meters of galvanized chain, stainless steel cleats, and liferaft mount were installed. Navigation systems comprise a Simrad NSE 12 plotter with broadband radar, AIS B+ transceiver, dual VHF radios, and a 4G router. The engine room, galley, and cabins received LED lighting and new soft furnishings. Last hauled-out in 2023 with fresh antifouling applied in 2025.
