1991 Viudes German Frers 82 Alloy

An 82-foot aluminum sailing yacht designed by German Frers and built by Viudes Shipyard in Spain. This is a robust bluewater cruiser with elegant proportions and a reputation for strength and seaworthiness. The hull was surveyed in 2022 and found to be in excellent condition. Power comes from a Caterpillar 3208 diesel engine rated at 210 horsepower, installed in 1998, with a cruising speed of 9 knots and an approximate range of 2,000 nautical miles.

The interior accommodates five cabins across the yacht's length. The master cabin features a double and single bed with an ensuite bathroom and shower. Two guest cabins each have twin beds or bunks and ensuite bathrooms with showers. The aft captain's cabin holds a double bed with ensuite facilities, while the forward crew cabin offers twin bunks and a shower. Throughout, the yacht displays classic interiors with warm woods, ample headroom, and generous natural light.

Recent refits have substantially updated systems and furnishings. In 2023, work included a new retractable electric bow thruster with dedicated batteries, fresh furling genoa in Dacron, renewed bimini and sprayhood, new UV covers, updated cockpit cushions, new Raymarine autopilot control, hull polishing, and teak deck deep cleaning. The air conditioning system was serviced with a new seawater pump. New dishwasher, smart television, service batteries (24V, 800Ah), engine and generator batteries, and plexiglass hatches were installed. The Navtec hydraulic system received full servicing.

A comprehensive refit in 2007 included full hull and superstructure repainting, new rigging with overhauled spars, complete new teak deck, hydraulic gangway, renewed galley, interior refresh with new headliners and upholstery, entertainment system, and new generator. Subsequent service work in 2010 and 2013 maintained systems and added a performance mainsail.
