1991 Wauquiez Centurion 49

The 1991 Wauquiez Centurion 49 is a 49-foot cruising and offshore racing sailboat built with a solid fiberglass hull and sandwich deck construction. The boat displaces 14 tonnes, draws 1.75 metres, and is powered by a single 80-horsepower Perkins diesel engine with 480 hours of operation. In 2025, the engine received a full service including revision, heat exchanger, turbo, stuffing box, and hydrolube bearing work.

The interior features three cabins and two heads across a well-appointed layout. The forward cabin includes a large double berth with settee and vanity, while the two aft cabins provide a double and single bunk respectively. Both heads offer hot and cold water, electric toilets, showers, and electric discharge pumps. Accommodation headroom throughout reaches 1.90 metres. The galley is fitted with a stainless steel Taylor stove with oven and salamander, dual refrigeration, pressurised hot and cold water, and extensive storage.

In 2023 the boat underwent extensive refurbishment: new teak deck, complete rigging overhaul, fully renovated galley with new refrigeration system, restored wooden joinery throughout, and new Sunbrella interior upholstery. The teak mast cladding and cockpit closure also date to 2023. The seven-winch deck includes two Harken 66.2 electric units and additional Harken winches. Sails include North Sails mainsail, 130 percent genoa, jib, and spinnaker, with supporting equipment including Navtec hydraulic systems, furling gear, and twin aluminum spinnaker poles.

Navigation and mechanical systems are comprehensive: Raymarine autopilot and electronics including GPS, sounder, and AIS; Icom VHF; diesel heater; 575 litres of water capacity; bow thruster; desalinator; and solar power with generator backup. Deck equipment includes a 25-kilogramme Rocna primary anchor with 80 metres of chain, secondary anchor, electric windlass, and integrated boarding ladder.
