A 1992 Catalina 28 with fiberglass hull and solid construction throughout. The boat sleeps six across two cabins and features a notably spacious cockpit with a walk-through transom, making her larger in actual volume than many 30-foot designs. She has a lead wing keel and spade rudder, with an 18-horsepower Universal diesel engine driving a three-blade Osborne propeller.
The interior layout consists of a forward V-berth with overhead hatch, a main saloon with port and starboard settees and a drop-leaf table between them, a navigation station over the ice box on the port side, an enclosed head in the port quarter, and a galley to starboard with a two-burner stove and oven. A large aft cabin sits beneath the cockpit. The boat carries 20 gallons of fuel, 40 gallons of water, and a 20-gallon holding tank with macerator pump (replacement pump aboard).
Recent mechanical work includes a new shaft and Volvo dripless stuffing box installed in 2015. The main sail is new as of 2024, as is the North Gennaker with ATN sock. Running rigging and deck hardware date to 2014, and the lazy jacks are retractable. A single-spreader aluminum mast and boom support a Hood headsail furler with 135 percent Genoa. Electrical systems include a Xantrex 20-amp three-stage battery charger, 110-volt shore power, solar panel, and LED lights installed in 2021. Canvas work—dodger and sail cover—was refreshed in 2021.
Equipment aboard includes two anchors (Bruce and Danforth), 30 feet of chain, 130 feet of rode, cockpit cushions, BBQ, folding cockpit table, lifeline gates, and covers for the wheel and barbecue. The boat owned by only three operators since new.
