The 1992 Cruise-A-Home Corsair 4200 is a 42-foot fiberglass cruiser built for extended voyages and comfortable living aboard. Powered by a single 250-horsepower Cummins diesel engine installed in 2008, the boat cruises at 9 knots with a top speed of 18 knots and carries substantial fuel capacity—380 gallons across two aluminum tanks plus 300 gallons in a midship plastic tank—to support long-range passages. An Onan 8 kilowatt generator provides shore power independence, backed by four batteries: two AGM and two lead-acid.
The layout centers on two private staterooms, each with its own enclosed head. The expansive main salon features large opening windows for views and natural ventilation, with opening doors flanking the lower helm station. The galley sits amidships on the starboard side and includes full-size appliances, double sinks, ample counter and cabinet space, and a trash compactor. A washer/dryer combo and refrigerator/freezer were both installed new in 2023.
Dual helm stations—upper and lower—give all-weather command flexibility. Electronics include radar, GPS plotter, autopilot, VHF radio, and depth sounder. Climate control combines a forced-air diesel furnace with Red Dot and electric heating for year-round comfort. An electric anchor windlass handles a pair of anchors and 280 feet of all-chain rode. On deck sits a Bullfrog rigid dinghy with a 20-horsepower Honda outboard for exploring and fishing.
