1992 Island Packet 29

The Island Packet 29 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built with hand-laid hull construction, full keel, and Island Packet's PolyClad gelcoat and PolyCore deck laminate systems. She measures 29 feet overall with a 10-foot 10-inch beam and is powered by a Yanmar 2GM20F diesel inboard producing 18 horsepower. The gelcoat and brightwork are in excellent condition, and the interior throughout features teak and holly—including the cabin sole, bulkheads, cabinetry, and trim finished with a hand-rubbed oil—along with cedar-lined drawers and louvered locker doors.

The deck layout offers wide unobstructed side decks with continuous cabin top handrails, a recessed foredeck with protective bulwarks, and a well-organized cockpit with coaming recesses and bins for sail control gear. Standing headroom below reaches 6 feet 4 inches. The forward cabin holds a double V berth and cedar-lined hanging locker; the saloon features a port settee with slide-out extension and a fold-out table; the quarter berth aft accommodates a double; the galley includes a Force 10 two-burner LPG stove and oven with pressurized hot and cold water; and the head features an enclosed shower with stainless steel sink and pressure water system. Total accommodation is seven berths. A dedicated nav station provides a hinged chart table and full electronics cabinet.

Equipment includes marine air conditioning, solar panels, Kato stainless steel dinghy davits, a stainless steel outboard crane, and a full custom winter cover. The sail plan is a full cutter rig with roller furling on jib and staysail, a genneker with whisker pole, and Lewmar self-tailing winches.

Recent upgrades include standing rigging and lifelines by Bay Area Rigging and chainplates sealed yearly (2021), Raymarine i60 wind, depth, and speed instruments (2021), Garmin GPSMAP 742XS chartplotter (2019), Dutchman Flaking System for the mainsail (2022), all sanitation hoses replaced (2023), new cockpit cushions (2025), and three West Marine Group 27 AGM dual-purpose marine batteries (2026).
