1993 Beneteau First 38s5

The 1993 Beneteau First 38S5 is a performance cruiser designed by Jean Berret with an interior by Philippe Starck. Built on a fiberglass hull, this 38-foot yacht combines responsive sailing characteristics with practical cruising accommodations. A single-handed design with all control lines led aft to the cockpit makes the boat straightforward to operate, whether cruising coastal waters, making offshore passages, or racing.

The boat features two cabins and two heads. The forward master suite holds a queen berth with private head access, while the aft cabin offers a king-size berth. The salon provides comfortable living space with a flat-screen television and DVD player, upholstered in marine vinyl. The galley includes a three-burner gimbaled stove with oven, refrigerator and icebox, 900-watt microwave, and dual stainless sinks with Corian countertops.

The sail plan comprises multiple sails in serviceable condition: new Dacron main and genoa, an XDrive carbon main and genoa, a Dacron 110% genoa, and a symmetrical spinnaker with running rigging. The mast is ZSpar with rod rigging inspected in 2023, a lazy jack system, and Harken roller furler for the genoa. The cockpit features a 54-inch wheel, six serviced Lewmar winches, Raymarine e7 touchscreen, ST6000+ autopilot, and an Edson pedestal with integrated table. A Magma barbecue, bimini with clear covers, and synthetic teak throughout complete the deck layout.

Power comes from a Westerbeke W30 diesel engine with approximately 850 hours, recently serviced with new mounts and a fresh oil change. Electronics include Raymarine radar and navigation systems, VHF radio, wind and depth instruments, and a 1,000-watt inverter. Ground tackle consists of a 45-pound plow anchor, 100 feet of chain, and 250 feet of rode managed by a manual windlass. The boat carries 110 gallons of fresh water and 50 gallons of diesel fuel.
