1983 Bristol 38.8

This 1983 Bristol 38.8 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built with classic cruising lines and generous proportions. The boat was repowered in 1998 with a 50-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine, which currently shows approximately 2,600 hours. The engine provides reliable auxiliary power for the sails, which include a fully battened mainsail with in-boom reefing and electric winch, paired with a 125% roller furling jib fitted three years ago.

The cabin is equipped for extended cruising with refrigeration, a propane stove and range, and diesel or electric heating. Below deck there is an enclosed manual pump head with holding tank. Topside, a canvas dodger provides weather protection in the cockpit, which is fitted with cushions for comfort underway.

Electrical systems include two AGM batteries, a 30-amp shore power connection with battery charger, and a vertical Muir windlass for anchor handling. Navigation and autopilot are handled by newer electronics: a 2022 Garmin radar, GPS chart plotter, depth sounder, and AIS transceiver, supplemented by a Raymarine ST600 autopilot. A stereo system with speakers rounds out the onboard amenities.
