1993 Hunter Legend 40.5

The 1993 Hunter Legend 40.5 is a fiberglass-hulled auxiliary sailing yacht designed for comfortable coastal cruising and liveaboard capability. Built on a full-displacement hull with a winged shoal keel and spade rudder, she measures 40 feet overall with a 12.4-foot beam and draws 4.92 feet, making her well-suited to varied anchorages. Power comes from a Yanmar 4JH2E diesel engine rated at 50 hp, with approximately 2,529 engine hours on the clock. The rig is a fractional sloop with a Z-Spar aluminum mast, Marconi configuration, and 760 square feet of sail area. Single-handed sailing is facilitated by running rigging led to the cockpit, supported by four winches: two Barient sheet winches, one Lewmar electric halyard winch, and one Barient manual halyard winch.

The interior accommodates up to seven with two cabins and a convertible dinette. Two marine heads with separate fresh water showers, teak cabinetry, and teak-and-holly sole flooring create a finished living space. Water capacity totals 110 gallons across four tanks, with a 35-gallon holding tank and 40-gallon diesel fuel tank. A water heater runs on either shore power or engine heat. Navigation and communication equipment includes a B&G Zeus³ S integrated chartplotter with autopilot and radar, two additional B&G multi-function displays, and dual VHF radios. A Maxwell 1200 electric windlass handles 150 feet of all-chain primary rode with a 33-pound Bruce anchor.

Recent upgrades over the past three years include the B&G navigation system, new VHF radio, faux teak decking, interior reupholstery with LED lighting throughout, teak shower boards, and updated deck hardware and fender gear. Mechanical maintenance highlights include routine engine and fuel system service, a new starter battery, regular hull cleaning with fresh zincs, and full servicing of the water, holding tank, and bilge systems. The electrical system runs 12 VDC house and start banks with an 80-amp alternator, plus 30-amp shore power connectivity with a Professional Mariner battery charger.
