The 1993 Luhrs Tournament 380 is a 38-foot fiberglass convertible built for serious offshore fishing and extended cruising. Twin Detroit Diesel 6-71 TIB turbo diesels deliver 970 horsepower total, turning at roughly 700 hours on the engines themselves. The yacht cruises at 22 to 24 knots at 2000 RPM, burning about 28 gallons per hour. A Kohler 9.6 kW generator provides onboard power.
Below deck, the boat sleeps six with a forward stateroom featuring an island berth and hanging closets, a guest cabin with bunk beds, and a large L-shaped sleeper sofa in the salon. The interior received a full renovation in 2022, including cherry cabinetry throughout, a spacious head with separate stall shower, and galley with cooktop and microwave. A stainless refrigerator/freezer and hot water heater are both new in 2025. Climate control comes from a two-zone air-conditioning and heating system, and two flat-screen televisions are installed.
Topside, the large flybridge offers excellent sightlines and seating, with a foredeck sunpad and swim platform featuring boarding ladder and transom door. Twin Garmin GPSMAP 1042XSV displays updated in 2024 anchor the helm, paired with autopilot, Garmin VHF radio, and fly-by-wire electronic shifter and throttle controls. The cockpit includes in-deck fish boxes, a transom livewell, built-in cooler, and electric windlass with 300 feet of chain. Rupp outriggers and Seadek flooring cover the cockpit, flybridge, and swim platform.
Recent mechanical work includes new shafts, props with custom pitch and cup, dripless bearings, turbochargers, bilge pumps, and batteries. The hull received a bottom blasting, epoxy barrier coat, and new bottom paint. New through-hulls, valves, trim tab pistons, transducer, and underwater lighting complete the upgrades. LED lighting runs throughout the boat.
